Hi! I’m Ilia, PhD student at the University of Lausanne working on Machine Learning (ML). I focus on supervised multi-modal ML with tabular data as the primary modality and high-dimensional data (e.g., natural text and images) as secondary modalities. I study the best ways of fusing different data sources to produce point predictions with uncertainty bounds (prediction intervals). My other research interests include latent representation (e.g., encoding, EM algorithm) and inferring with missing modalities.
Outside of my research, I co-organize technical AI/ML meetups, AI Tinkerers Lausanne and Geneva, where builders demo what they’re working on to a community of 400+ engineers and researchers. Beyond that, I enjoy sports science, nutrition, and gaming (pcmasterrace).
